Washington County Head Start / Early Head Start and Child Care Programs, New York

The Whitehall Center is located at Gray’s Corners, Whitehall, about 1 mile outside of the village in northern Washington County. The center was originally a one room schoolhouse and has been renovated and expanded.

This center has one classroom serving 34 children in double sessions from the Whitehall area. An Inclusion classroom with United Cerebral Palsy – Prospect School operates in conjunction with the morning session in the Whitehall Center. Two teaching teams, a cook/bus driver, a Health/Family Services Worker and family worker/site manager work at this center. There is a well-equipped outdoor playground space. This center underwent major renovations during the 2003-2004 program year houses a full day, full year Early Head Start toddler classroom as well as additional office space and a Nurturing Parent room.
