Family Development Teams: Family and community partnership services are provided by 4 family workers and 6 family worker/site managers. Family workers recruit, enroll and maintain relationships with families, encourage parent involvement, and provide referral, advocacy and follow-up for needed family services. They are supervised by the Family Services Coordinator.
Each family worker works with a teaching team to form a Family Development Team. The teacher, assistant teacher and family worker work together to strengthen communication between staff, child and parent by having the family worker directly spend time in the classroom each day, interacting with the children, greeting parents and sharing information with teaching staff. This daily contact increases and improves services to children and families.
