How do I know if my child is eligible?
The federal government establishes eligibility guidelines for enrollment. Pleae give us a call and we can help you determine if you are eligible.

Do you have daycare?
Yes, we have daycare available to families that have child care assistance. You can obtain the application for this program from Washington County Department of Social Services. It is available to all working families meeting financial eligibility guidelines.

What are you daycare hours?
Our centers that provide day care can be available from 7:30am to 5:30 pm. Hours may vary depending on parent need.

Can I come visit the center?
Yes, we welcome and encourage visits from anyone interested in our program. Please call the center nearest you to schedule an appointment.

When my child attends the program how can I be involved?
We love volunteers! Parents are the key to the success of our program and there are many different ways to be involved. Some of the ways include in the classroom, kitchen, bus, planning activities and decision-making. Each center has a parent group that meets regularly to plan activities.

Can we still participate if my child has a disability?
Yes, we include children with disabilities. For the child this means participating in classroom activities with all the children. For parents, it means working together to provide the services and supports your child needs.

What do children do at Head Start and Early Head Start?
We have many different activities for children including outdoor play time, small group activities, meals shared family style, planning and work time and large motor activities.

Is transportation available to Head Start and Early Head Start centers?
Transportation is available, whenever possible, for Head Start children living within a center's transporation route. There is a limited amount of transportation available for Early Head Start children.

What if my child is eligible but we live too far away for a bus to pick them up?
Parents have the opportunity to transport their own child or your family may be interested in our Home Based program.

What is Home Based?
Home Visitors make weekly visits to families and bring all of the aspects of the Head Start/Early Head Start program into their homes.

Does the program follow a particular early childhood curriculum?
Yes, our program utilizes the High/Scope curriculum in both the Head Start and Early Head Start program.
